At AFEPASA we continue to advance in our commitment to the protection and respect of our environment

 

• Our commitment to the protection and conservation of the environment has been part of our reason for being for more than 125 years.
• For this reason, we have opted for the development and use of more sustainable packaging, incorporating recycled plastic materials in its development, in response to the entry into force of the new packaging and waste regulations.
• This measure is just one more example of the strong sustainable and environmental awareness that is present in all our production, commercial and management processes.
   

Since our foundation more than 125 years ago, as a company dedicated to the production, distribution and marketing of sulfur for agricultural use, AFEPASA has always publicly expressed its firm commitment to the protection and conservation of the environment.

For this reason, we have worked conscientiously for months to scrupulously comply with the new regulations related to the European Union's search for an effective reduction in the use of single-use plastics, which came into force in our country last 1 January 2023 in compliance with Royal Decree 1055/2022, of December 27, on packaging and packaging waste, reducing the virgin plastic used in the manufacture of our conventional 10-liter container by up to 75%, and applying this measure both in our national marketing and in the European Union as well as in the rest of international markets.

Thus, as a result of the work of recent months, from the first days of this year 2023 the packaging for our products in liquid format will be made up of 50% recycled plastic. At AFEPASA, together with our collaborators, we will continue working to extend this improvement to as many containers as possible, at the same time increasing the percentage of recycled plastic.

In this way, AFEPASA has aligned itself with the environmental philosophy of this decision, assuming the fee and actively investing in a packaging model in which to once again express our commitment to a more sustainable and responsible society.

This aspect is further proof of our company's awareness with the development of all those improvements that can favor the conservation and protection of our environment in the short, medium and long term.

In this sense, we have always opted for innovation and development of products that can be applied in both conventional and ecological and biodynamic agriculture, but, in the same way, we have voluntarily and decisively incorporated awareness of the environment in our management processes.

As proof of this, more than 15 years ago we became a pioneer and benchmark entity in the sector not only by obtaining the ISO 14001 certification, which establishes the requirements for the design and implementation of an environmental management system. , but going one step further, by obtaining the EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) certification in an analogous way.

Aware of the need to continue advancing every day in this sense, at AFEPASA we are clear that the protection and conservation of our environment constitutes an essential basic axis of our reason for being.
